Betty McCollum (U.S. House of Representatives, D-MN)
In 2011, Congresswoman Betty McCollum was re-appointed by House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi to serve as an ex officio member of the National Council on the Arts. Congresswoman McCollum is currently in her sixth term in Congress, representing Minnesota’s Fourth Congressional District, which includes the capital city of St. Paul. During the 112th Congress, McCollum serves on the House Appropriations and Budget Committees. McCollum is a member of Appropriations Subcommittee on Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies, which is responsible for appropriating federal funds to the National Endowment for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Humanities. A strong supporter of public investment in artists, arts organizations, and arts education to strengthen communities and foster economic development, Congresswoman McCollum represents a vibrant and growing community of artists in her Minnesota district.
